This shape first appeared in the late 1970s at Cutler & Gross in London and was a bestseller from the start. The wavy brow bar, simple rectangular lens shape, and bold, sweeping temples captured our customers\' imaginations. It was one of the first shapes available to order at our original Knightsbridge store, from the 1970s through the early 1980s. These frames were handcrafted on the second floor of our store, which still exists. In 2001, we redesigned the bridge, reducing its height by 3mm and widening it by 2mm to create the more inclusive fit we see today. In 2021, this new, bolder style is made in layers to celebrate the 9mm.
